Heraklion, Crete, Greece

Flying from Amsterdam to Heraklion, there was a lava-like magical sunset poking up through the white fluffy clouds through a crack in their thick blanket from over here, then from over there, while simultaneously sitting atop the clouds. My mind was blowing up. I kept looking for you to shrug at, wide-eyed in amazement. It was a freakin' spectacular phenomenon. I needed you.

Heraklion is the largest city of all the Greek islands. (It is worth reading about if you'd like to click on the highlighted linked name). HER airport is where all retreat participants landed. I landed there first, three days before the Retreat participants would arrive.

I wanted time to adjust from jet lag before being responsible for 5 (more) adults - starting with a two-and-a-half hour road trip, driving a 7-seater-Peugeot-van manual (surprise! I had not driven a stick in over 45 years), through death-defying hairpin-turn-and-washed-out-dirt-road-over-cliffs-mountain roads, toward the southeastern part of Crete, toward Natura Cottages in Aspros Potamos - for our two-week Retreat.

During my short Heraklion hiatus, I spent a day walking and exploring a long artistic sea wall battlement by a quaint and colorful marina.

The night before I'd pick up the Retreat participants at HER, tea tag wisdom spoke to our Retreat theme, Communicating Through the Veil...

If you'd like to go back to Heraklion with me, here's a little pictural slice of the day via video collage...

Look for the next blog about our most amazing retreat. Here's a sneak peak...
